ROLE PLAY SCRIPT

Give Birth

A day, there is a family in the Sukorame village, the name is Sumanto’s family. Mrs. Sumanto have been pregnant for 9 months. Suddenly, she felt stomachache. She was panic and called her husband and her mother in law.

Mrs. Sumanto  : (hold the stomach) ohhh…honey….mom… I have got stomachache

Mr. Sumanto   : What happen honey ?

Mother                        :  Astagfirrullah, she will give birth right now, we must bring her to midwife’s

                          house.

Mr. sumanto    : Ok mom..come on honey !

They went to midwife’s house, they were so panic because this is  their  first child. 30 minutes later, they arrived in the midwife’s house.

Mr. Sumanto   : Excuse me Ms. Can you help me ?

Assisten           : Yes, Sir. Sit down please. What can I do for you ?

Mr. Sumanto   : Can I meet midwife ? Because my wife will give birth now.

Assisten           : Yes sir, midwife is at home. What your name Mrs ? How long have you been

  get stomachache ?

Mrs. Sumanto  : I’m Mrs. Sumanto, I have  been getting stomachache for yesterday, but

  today, stomachace get worse.

Mother            : Where is midwife ? Can you call her ? (panic)

Assisten           : Calm down, Mrs. Midwife will check her condition. Please, follow me to

   delivery room. (Assistant asks Mrs. Sumanto to lay down)

   Mrs. Sumanto, you can lay down here, please. I will call midwife.

Assisten is asking midwife at home.

Assisten           : Excuse me, there is a patient.

Midwife          : Oh yaa, ok, I will go there.

Assisten and midwife meet patient and family in delivery room.

Midwife          : Excuse me, oh Mrs. Sumanto, how are you ?

Mrs. Sumanto  : Midwife, I have got stomachache.

Mother            : Come on Midwife, help my child. I’m afraid occuring to my grandchild.

Midwife          : Ok Mrs, don’t worry. I will check your child.

Midwife  washed her hand and wear handscoen.

Midwife          : Mrs. Sumanto, bend your knees please. I will check your serviks dilatation.

  Please take a deep breath in.

After midwife did check Mrs. Sumanto. Mr. Sumanto asked to midwife about his wife condition.

Mr. Sumanto   : How is my wife ? (panic)

Mother            : How is my grandchild ? (panic)

Midwife          : Don’t worry, Sir. There is normal, serviks dilatation your wife is 8

  centimeter. We will wait 2 hours later. Mrs. Sumanto, sideways to left,

  please. Ms. Reny preparies all instruments, I will prepare partograph.

Assisten           : Ok.

Mother            : Alhamdullilah…

2 hours later, Mrs. Sumanto felt stomachache get worse, she felt force to up in the vaginal,  fetal membrane was broke, and come out of blood mucus.

Mrs. Sumanto  : (she feels very sick)

Mr. Sumanto   : Be patient honey…

Assisten           : She will give birth now. I will call midwife.

Assisten and midwife prepare all instrument, wash their hand, and wear handscoens.

Midwife          : Mrs. Sumanto, your servix dilatation is complete, please bend your knees and

  hold your thigh. If you feel contraction, you can try to strain abdominal

  muscle like defecating and look at to stomach.

Assiten            : Sir, you can give support to her.

Midwife          : Oke, Mrs. Sumanto, if you fell contraction, you must take a deep breath and    

  push out.

An hour later….

Midwife          : Congratulation  for your baby, your baby is beautiful like you.

Mr. Sumanto   : Alhamdullilah….

After that, assisten and midwife clean up Mrs. Sumanto and all instruments.

Mr. Sumanto   : Midwife, I’m so sorry, because I’m so panic. That is my first child.

Midwife          : Never mind, Sir. It’s natural.

Mr. Sumanto and Mother : Thanks Midwife.
